As young Magnus Jakuta uncovers the truth about his origins and destiny, he finds himself in the middle of an intergalactic conflict.
In a world filled with unique people, circumstances, and situations, we all have the potential to unlock great power from within. Magnus Jakuta — a young Chicagoan whose life will be shaped forever, shall embark on a quest for redemption. However, major obstacles stands in his way. At the height of an intergalactic war an abandoned prince must reclaim his birthright before he loses all that he holds dear. The answers are waiting for you in the eagerly anticipated new series!
What's so special about "Magnus"? Unlike most comics featuring heroic figures, Magnus takes a different approach. Orishas, gods, and goddesses from the Yoruba religion of West Africa inspired Magnus.
Many individuals of color believe that the comic book industry does not adequately represent their experiences. Only a tiny fraction of the Orisha gods and goddesses are explored.
"Magnus," a comic that challenges the status quo, was born out of this idea. To depict black people as kings, queens, warriors, gods, and goddesses is what Magnus plans to do.
By incorporating old African lore into a compelling plot, Magnus will demonstrate its commitment to ensuring fair representation for people of color.
Today I sit with Frederick Littles of Wise Acre Comics and Creator of Magnus, the intergalactic war saga about a lost prince who finds out very quickly that he has a destiny to fulfill. We discuss the inspiration in Frederick starting his comic book imprint to the importance of character designs to basing his characters with West African Yoruba Mythology and with Fredericks time in the military we see some of the Protagonist like General Stamos molding the mind and body of Magnus.
